Cub Capital is a Singapore based investment firm that provides funding to promising early-stage companies at the pre-seed and seed stage. Cub Capital was established in 2013 and has invested into 16 companies to date.

Cub Capital is a private investment vehicle of Michael Blakey, named the 2015 Angel Investor of the Year by the British Business Angel Association. Michael is a co-founder of Avonmore Developments (UK) and a managing partner and co-founder of Cocoon Capital (Singapore).

Cub Capital is led by Maria Shostak who brings a unique blend of marketing, entrepreneurial, and investment expertise to the table. Her experience spans more than two decades and covers diverse international markets, including the USA, Russia Romania, Monaco, the UK and now Singapore. In her personal capacity she has invested in Monzo, GoHenry (2023 exit), Crowdcube and Verv to name a few.

We invest in passionate founders who are solving important problems with their innovative solutions. We take an active approach to our investments, which means that we work closely with our portfolio companies and provide hands-on support in strategy, marketing, funding and growth. Unlike venture funds that operate within strict fund timelines and may pressure founders to deliver results too far, and too fast, we prioritise the long-term success.

Cub Capital is sector agnostic and has a global investment reach.  We are trying to be the first check into a start-up, and are happy to get into companies pre-revenue, and sometimes pre-product. We provide initial funding of $25,000 - $50,000 from own resources and work with a wide range of high-net worth investors, family offices and venture capital funds to raise larger syndicates.
